LAND LOG: Spring 2005

In the spring of 2005 initial work began on clearing twenty-three of the terrace and the entrance to the land. Gary and Martin spent several months clearing the wild bush and weeds with a digger and a small hand rotovator.

A 9cm bore irrigation water pipe was also brought over 1km across land from the main supply.

Outline planning permission for the main building work was approved by the local council and submitted to the regional council for their consent - which was not given. Work on agricultural aspects of the project can progress without further permissions.

The land was totally overgrown with weeds and wild bush
