Irrigation pipes are delivered just before Christmas

Slow progress was made on the land in December 2005 - partly because of Christmas holidays but also as a result of road works on the campo track that made it impossible for any deliveries for most of the month.

Scarlett bought bicycles for Patrik and Tomas, at their request, so they could continue to get to the land and make some progress using up the materials that were already at the land.

One day the boys cycled to the land carrying ladders between them on their 2 bikes, so they could finish work on the water deposit. Unfortunately we did not manage to capture this on camera but you could just imagine the scene as being something from an old 1930s Buster Keaton movie!

The Water Deposit walls are finished

The boys did mange to get themselves and the ladders to the land in one piece, so they were able to finish the construction of all 3 layers of the steel water deposit (shown above).

There were also enough materials on the land to complete the chicken house construction. However, the roof of the chicken house was blown off in high winds only a few hours after they had finished it.

The pergola roof tiles are another victim of the winds - each week a little bit more blows away. A complete replacement is required, but this will probably have to wait until higher priority items are finished, such as the water deposit and irrigation system.

Eventually, on 19 December, the campo road was open again - although with a few pot hole - but it was good enough for us to be able to take delivery of all the irrigation system (pipes, taps, joints, etc).

The delivery lorry was able to get into Murchas and the Boys were able to use the car and trailer to move the materials from their to the land bit by bit.
